Images on these textiles were created using de-commissioned fishing nets gathered from a project in Richmond, seaweed from local beaches, wysteria leaves from my patio, jute and plastic from my previous exhibition “If I Lived in the Ocean”
The original pieces were made using cyanotype on Japanese cotton. These 4 images were then printed in Japan on traditional tenugui cotton which is 33×90 centimetres with typical unfinished edges top and bottom. They compliment any space with their various blue hues, organic material and interesting story of origin. Hang on the wall, use as a table runner, as a way to display other items and of course, they can be used in the kitchen or on your body as a traditional and luxury limited edition Japanese tenugui towel.
